And One Glorious Day
(I wrote this poem for my daughter Vanessa, she'll read it to her church
congregation when my grandson, James, leaves on a two year mission)
I stand here remembering
That special day God gave
My beloved son James to me
Reliving those memories
Are causing special tears
Only a mother sheds
When she's remembering
The joy and love
Her child has been to her.
Soon James will go on a mission
To do work for the Lord
With him he will take
A part of me deep inside his heart
In a place God made especially
To hold a Mother's love.
James, I love you very much
While you're away
I'll pray both night and day
Asking God to keep you safe
And one glorious day
Return you back home to me.
