Trying Not To Remember

The piano keys are silent

As I stand here alone

Trying not to remember

How long you've been gone.

I wish I knew if you think of me

As often as I think of you_

I need answers to questions

The main one is_Are we through?

Each night is more lonely_

Days drag on_not wanting to end

I keep trying to push you out of my mind_

Knowing doing that_there's no way I can win.

Tears are drowning my heart

Tears I can't reach to wipe out_

My surviving without you_

I'm beginning to have serious doubt.

Yes, I'm standing next to the piano

Remembering you playing our song

And hoping you'll remember too

And come back home.
