Holding Those We Love

Crying often drowns

Sorrow with tears

But it doesn't help

Our hurt to disappear.

Only time can heal

Wounds in a soul

But sometimes even time

Can't break hurts hold.

Losing a loved one

Engulfs a heart with pain

It's then we realize

Our lives will never be the same.

Holding those we love

Is all we can do

And carrying on with our lives

Until our time on earth is through.
