Because I Have Learned
My Lesson

I will always wonder why I waited too long
Before telling you how much you mean to me
A question I'll ask myself all of my life is
Was I wrong or was my waiting meant to be?

Years have crept by since I last saw you
But your face is fresh in my mind each day
I hope your road is smooth all of your life
Because you deserve happiness in every way.

Loneliness dwells in my heart, mind and soul
No one makes me feel the way I did about you
If by some miracle one day I find love again
Telling them so is the first thing I will do.

Because I have learned my lesson....
