This Is Life's Way

A little child playing with their pets and toys
Is a little piece of heaven right before your eyes
But the loss of someone you hold dear in your heart
Darkens your world like clouds darken sunny skies.

A babies first steps makes a proud mother smile
When baby first says, 'Dada' daddy smiles too
After baby grows up and time comes to leave home
Happy tears fall but within Mom and dad are blue.

As years pass by small families begin to grow
Grandchildren take grandparents loneliness away
Eventually it will be time for grandparents to go
Sadly the children will have to accept
This is life's way....
