Broken Promises
Are Hard To Forgive

I'm on my way back to my home town
Hoping I'll find everything the same
With my finger's crossed my girlfriends
Feelings for me haven't changed.

But I'm worried about what she told me
That last night before I had to go away
She said if I loved her I had better
Call or write her at least once each day.

Regretfully writing I didn't take time to do
Broken promises are hard to forgive
So if she doesn't forgive me I'll understand
But I'll love her as long as I live.
