Mother Love
It seems only yesterday I held you upon my knee
Darling daughter now you're almost as tall as me
I saw you smile when you walked into your room
And saw the toys you played with many afternoons.
Passing time has brought changes I know is true
But one thing will never change is my love for you
As long as I live my little girl you will always be
When I look at you my darling baby is what I see.
When you marry and have children of your own
You will be sad too when your children are grown
I saw tears in mother's eye when I moved away
Her loneliness I knew would be there to stay.
