The Past Is Gone
Sitting by my window listening to the rain
Reminiscing about years that are now gone
Smiling, when I think of happy times I've had
Feeling sad about many things I've done wrong.
When my children asked me to play, I am sorry
Too many times I told them I don't have time
It would be wonderful if I had a second chance
To correct the mistakes lingering in my mind.
Complete perfection I know cannot be reached
But I'll try not making the same mistakes again
Like finally reading the last chapter in a novel
The past too is gone, but it's memories remain.
