Youth

Most likely these thoughts apply to you too
I didn't appreciate the gift of being a young man
until it was too late to realize the blessing I had
lately, I think about this over and over again.

Youth is a gift more precious than a pot of gold
I didn't notice time was taking my youth away
until my reflection in my mirror proved it to me
the day that happened was a very sad day.

It's too late for me, but not for my children
I often tell them their youth is for a short time
I wish my parents had given me that advice
because our youthful years are a special kind.
