The Challenges Of A New Day
Morning dew lazily
Drips from my flowers
Towards a darkened ground
As if trying to escape
Warmth from a rising sun.
Creatures of the night
Are seeking safe refuge
From lurking dangers of the day
And chatting amongst themselves
In lanuages only they can understand.
Early morning school children
Walk by laughing and talking
Each child trying to control
The topic of conversation
Eager for full attention.
Having inhaled cool morning air
I go back into my house
To a loving wife
Feeling happy and ready to face
The challenges of a new day.
